March Exhibition - MODEL RAIL 2004
March 6th, 7th 2004.

This page has been set up to enable visitors to the web site to savour some of the sights and sounds of the last exhibition.

Included on this site are Images of the previous show to give you a better picture of what happens at exhibitions run by Rainhill MRC.

Layouts that appeared in 2004:

Flour Mill Pit - EM Gauge.

This scene is based around Flour Mill Colliery in the Forest of Dean and is typical of many mines in that area.

The land for the colliery was first purchased in 1864 and enjoyed a profitable existence. In 1916 it was connected underground to nearby Park Gutter Pit.

The date of closure is unsure but we'll keep it open until the 1950's.

Great Endon - 00 Gauge.

Great Endon is a small fictious town in the North West. Connection to the B.R Network is by a branch terminus, downgraded from a through mainline station.

Both passenger and freight trains pay regular visits with D.M.U's and vans to the local rubber factory.

Acton Main Line - N Gauge.

Acton Mainline is situated on the GWML route travelling west out of Paddington and the layout is set in the modern times, period 1989 - '91.

Operations represent later city mainline and Network South East suburban services, plus railfreight movements from all regions via three North London Lines. Acton yard is a terminal for Foster Yeoman Aggregates, including a Redland Tiles Speedlink service.

This is a point where stone trains divide for other depots.

Roarkes Landing - HO Gauge.

Roarkes Landing is a small waterside location on the Great Northern System somewhere in the North West of America.

The landing is popular with fishermen, hunters and prospectors as well as being a place for the employees of the Mount Dora Ore an Lumber Comp. to relax.
