Lydstone - N Gauge,
Countryside Layout.

Lydstone is an imaginary town near to the Cotswolds. Always a prosperous area with its wealth based on Agriculture and light industry, it was served by a canal.

In the 1840's the merchants and farmers wanted their own railway because the town had been bypassed in the construction of the main lines.

The railway is a cross country route which was jointly managed until 1948 by the L.M.S and G.W.R.

The layout is now depicted immediately after the Nationalisation when very little had changed and rural life continued undisturbed.
